Lloyds Banking Group’s CEO António Horta-Osório is taking leave on medical grounds from the part-nationalised U.K bank.

Lloyds Banking Group’s CEO António Horta-Osório is taking leave on medical grounds from the part-nationalised U.K bank, The Financial Times reports. Horta-Osório joined the London-based financial institution early this year from Spain’s Banco Santander.

Finance director Tim Tookey, who is due to leave the bank in the coming months, after having resigned this summer, may be acting CEO for an interim period. The time period for Horta-Osório’s leave has not been disclosed but it could last at least six months.
