Citi has cleared its first U.S. client interest rate trades via LCH.Clearnet. The bank has been working closely with LCH on the design of its solution for U.S. clients in accordance with the provisions of the Dodd-Frank bill, said Jerome Kemp, global head of derivatives sales and clearing at Citi. It has been clearing for clients on the LCH model for interest rate swaps since December 2009 in Europe. Since October 2010, Citi has been clearing interest rate swaps through the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
