Banco Santander has acquired around a 96% stake in Polish lender, Bank Zachodni, Financial Times reports. The Spanish bank paid around €4 billion for the stake to Allied Irish Banks (AIB).
The Santander-based lender has also agreed to acquire around 50% of WBK Asset Management for €150 million from AIB. The Irish lender agreed to sell its 70% stake in Bank Zachodni in September last year, adds Bloomberg.
