NM State Endowment Picks EQ Managers

New Mexico State Investment Council, which manages New Mexico’s $14 billion permanent endowment, has appointed a consortium of active domestic equity managers to run a combined $700 million.

New Mexico State Investment Council, which manages New Mexico’s $14 billion permanent endowment, has appointed a consortium of active domestic equity managers to run a combined $700 million, Pensions & Investments reports. The selected managers are BlackRock, Cortina Asset Management, Denver Investment Advisors, Donald Smith & Co. and Seizert Capital Partners.

BlackRock will oversee a small-cap core portfolio, Cortina will manage small-cap growth, Denver will oversee midcap growth, Donald Smith will handle small-cap value and Seizert will run midcap core. The $14.7 billion system is getting the funding from terminated equity managers Earnest Partners and Fox Asset Management. Earnest ran $465 million in midcap core equities and $173 million in smidcap value, while Fox Asset managed $127 million in small-cap value equity portfolio.
