Mike Ahearn, former CEO of First Solar, has rolled out a new $300 million venture capital firm, Reuters reports. The new firm, known as True North Venture Partners, will invest in start-ups in the energy, water, agriculture and waste industries.

The investments of the new firm will range from $100,000 to $25 million. True North Venture Partners will have offices in Chicago and Phoenix and will be staffed by the end of this year.
