Online retailer, Amazon.com, has acquired web-based DVD rental service, Lovefilm, Financial Times reports. The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed but it is estimated to be around £200 million.
Amazon already holds a 42% stake in the U.K. company since 2008. Amazon is planning to retain Lovefilm’s brand and use its main website and its movie portal to promote Lovefilm.
