Chilean telecoms operator, Movistar, is planning to launch a $100 million innovation investment fund, BNamericas reports, citing El Mercurio. The new vehicle will support technological innovation in the infrastructure network at the Telefonica division.
The fund will target new companies and new applications to make better use of the Internet. Oliver Flogel, CEO of Movistar Chile, has stepped down from his role to develop the Movistar Innova business incubator project, which Telefonica has been managing for years.
