Goldman Sachs head of U.K. investment banking, Julian Metherell, is stepping down from his role, The Wall Street Journal reports. Metherell, in charge of relationships with U.K. clients in the bank’s advisory division, is expected to join an investment firm being established by former BP CEO, Tony Hayward. Metherell joined Goldman in 1999 and is an oil-and-gas banker known for representing clients such as BP and Centrica. Separately, the bank has appointed senior natural-resources bankers Brett Olsher and Alastair Maxwell from Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley, respectively.
