The Kansas City Police Employees’ Retirement System (KCPERS) has appointed SSARIS as its first hedge fund manager, HFMWeek reports. The retirement system initially hired investment consulting firm, DeMarche, to initiate a search in November last year.
The pension fund also received presentations from Evanston Capital Management and Mesirow Financial initially. KCPERS had proposed a 10% allocation to hedge funds.
