Coal India (CIL) is looking to invest about $6.3 billion in a total of 68 mining projects, Economic Times reports. The Indian company has selected 68 projects which have a production capacity of about 230 million tonnes per annum.
Out of the 68 projects, 16 are of Western Coalfields in Maharashtra and 13 from Central Coalfields in Jharkhand. The other 13 projects are of South Eastern Coalfields in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
