Investment banking and diversified financial services group Macquarie Private Wealth has hired advisers and portfolio managers from HSBC Holdings and Fiera Sceptre, The Wall Street Journal reports. Jason Leemans will be senior vice president, investment adviser and portfolio manager, and joins from HSBC along with associate investment adviser Neil Kumar and investment services associate Jessica Dewey in Vancouver. The wealth management group targeted high net worth families and handled more than $215 million for HSBC, adds Reuters. Macquarie has also hired the unit of Walter McCormick and Garreth Fallis, who handled more than $347 million in assets for investment-counsel firm Fiera Sceptre. The two portfolio managers, Fiera veterans of 12 years, have joined in Toronto.
