SEC’s Trading, Markets Deputy Director Exits

The Securities and Exchange Commission’s deputy director of trading and markets division James Brigagliano will step down by the end of September.

The Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) deputy director of trading and markets division James Brigagliano will step down by the end of September. Brigagliano is joining international business law firm Sidley Austin as a partner in the securities and futures regulatory practice. Brigagliano joined the SEC’s office of the general counsel in 1986. He was appointed deputy director in 2009 and supervised the regulation of broker-dealers, securities markets and trading practices. Brigagliano also served as co-acting director of the division in 2009.
