Los Angeles-based Leonard Green & Partners has started initial talks with investors about its sixth private equity fund, The Wall Street Journal reports. The new fund may target about the same amount as the firm’s predecessor fund, which raised $5.3 billion in 2007 and was funded by institutions including the Illinois Teachers’ Retirement System. The company will send out formal marketing materials for the new fund. The company is targeting deal sizes ranging between $500 million and $2 billion, in sectors such as consumer and business services, consumer products, distribution, health care, media and retail.
