Liz Claiborne is seeking to sell its loss-making unit Mexx for nearly $100 million, Bloomberg reports. The fashion company will also try to get the buyer to provide another $100 million for covering debt and capital requirements.
The potential buyers include Leonard Green & Partners, Sun Capital and Golden Gate Capital. Liz Claiborne will retain a minority stake in the brand, which accounts for nearly one third of its revenue.
