Uganda NSSF Cuts Interest On Contributions

Uganda’s National Social Security Fund has reduced its interest rates on members’ contributions.

Uganda’s National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has reduced its interest rates on members’ contributions, Bloomberg reports, citing Daily Monitor. The interest has been cut from 7 percent in 2010 to 6 percent. The move follows a slowdown in the economy and costs incurred in a lawsuit. The fund is needed to deposit $5 million with the Supreme Court over a lawsuit by a Kenyan company contesting the NSSF’s termination of a building agreement.
