Paul Costello, general manager of Australia’s Future Fund, has joined alternative asset management and financial services company Blackstone Group as non-executive chairman for Australia and New Zealand. He will work under Tony James, Blackstone president, and Michael Chae, who heads private equity for the firm in Asia-Pacific.
Costello will assist in directing the development of the firm in the region and represent it with its key constituencies there. Before joining Future Fund, he had launched the New Zealand Superannuation Fund and was CEO of the Superannuation Trust of Australia.
