NPRF Sells BOI Stakes For €1B

Ireland’s National Pensions Reserve Fund has completed a €1 billion sale of a part of its stake in Bank of Ireland.

Ireland’s National Pensions Reserve Fund (NPRF) has completed a €1 billion sale of a part of its stake in Bank of Ireland (BoI), IPE reports. The stake was sold to a group of North American investors led by Canada’s Fairfax Financial Holdings.

WL Ross & Co., Capital Research and Management Co., Fidelity and Kennedy-Wilson Holdings are among the other buyers, adds Irish Times. The move will cut the government’s holding in the bank from 42.1 percent to 15.1 percent.
