StanChart Hires India SME Banking Head

Rajeev Chalisgaonkar has joined the Indian unit of Standard Chartered Bank, the country’s largest foreign lender.

Rajeev Chalisgaonkar has joined the Indian unit of Standard Chartered Bank, the country’s largest foreign lender, The Wall Street Journal reports. He has been appointed as head of small and medium enterprises (SME) banking for India and South Asia.

Chalisgaonkar joins Standard Chartered from U.K. lender Barclays Capital, where he was heading the corporate banking business in India. He was instrumental in developing SME businesses across geographies in his previous roles.
