The European Federation for Retirement Provision (EFRP) has hired Matti Leppälä as secretary general, Global Pensions reports. He will succeed Chris Verhaegen, who will quit in December to chair the European Insurance Occupational Pensions Authority’s and occupational pensions stakeholder group. Formerly, Leppälä was director of international, investment and legal affairs at Finnish Pension Alliance TELA. He has also worked with the European Association of Paritarian Institutions and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s private pensions working group.
