Martin Currie is planning to convert its U.K. equity income investment trust, Securities Trust of Scotland, into a global income vehicle, FundWeb reports. In 2010, the firm decided to focus its U.K. equity fund offering for retail investors on the Securities Trust of Scotland, a UK equity income investment trust.
The firm also converted its last U.K. Equity Income fund into a global equity income portfolio to be managed by Alan Porter. He will also head the investment trust if it converts to the new format, while the current manager of the Securities Trust of Scotland, Ross Watson, will remain a key manager for the division.
