Global Poverty Project Gets $1.5M

The Sumner M. Redstone Foundation has granted $1.5 million to the Global Poverty Project for eradicating extreme poverty.

The Sumner M. Redstone Foundation has granted $1.5 million to the Global Poverty Project for eradicating extreme poverty. The donation will aid the organization’s campaign against polio and its endowment fund, supporting plans of eliminating poverty through campaigns for global health, fair trade and good governance. Rotary International, Unicef, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and other partners are backing the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. The campaign has also garnered help from Hollywood celebrity Hugh Jackman and former Rotary International president Clem Renouf.
