The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has signed a contract with the Colombian government to support libraries in the country, Sage Nonprofit Solutions reports. The foundation will provide the government with a total of $3 million.
It will also distribute software from Microsoft Corp. as part of the agreement. The partnership has left it to the government to identify methods for the use and adoption of information and communications technology in the National Network of Public Libraries over the next two years.
