NV Energy and Great Basin Transmission have secured a $340 million loan guarantee from the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE), The Wall Street Journal reports. The companies will develop a transmission line that will carry electricity in northern Nevada. Under loan guarantees, the federal government commits to paying portions of private loans in case the companies default, adds Reuters. The One Nevada Transmission Line project is the first transmission line to receive loan aid from the DoE.
