Hedge-fund manager, Steven Cohen, is placing a bid for a minority stake in the New York Mets baseball team, The Wall Street Journal reports. Cohen, the founder of SAC Capital Advisors, manages about $12 billion in assets. Other bidders include a team led by Steve Starker, the co-founder of BTIG, and a team led by David Heller, an executive of Goldman Sachs. The Mets are looking to raise about $200 million to cover losses and pay down debt.
