South African state power utility Eskom Holdings has secured a $365 million loan, Bloomberg reports. The credit facility was provided by African Development Bank to help fund wind and solar plants.
The power plant projects are part of Eskom’s plan to deal with South Africa’s commitment to carbon reduction and clean energy. In April 2010, the utility received a $3.75 billion World Bank loan to fund expansion on condition that it launches renewable energy projects.
