NASDAQ OMX Group has appointed Lee Shavel as CFO and executive vice president of corporate strategy. Shavel will join NASDAQ OMX from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was Americas head of financial institutions investment banking. Previously, he has also worked for Merrill Lynch as the head of finance, securities and technology and global COO for its financial institutions group. Senior vice president, controller and principal accounting officer, Ronald Hassen, will continue to serve as CFO in the interim until Shavel joins on May 23, 2011.
