Chile’s Australis Raises $71M In IPO

Chilean farmed salmon producer and exporter Australis Seafoods has sold a 12.8% equity stake worth $71 million in an initial public offering.

Chilean farmed salmon producer and exporter Australis Seafoods has sold a 12.8% equity stake worth $71 million in an initial public offering, The Wall Street Journal reports. The shares were listed on the Santiago Stock Exchange.

The sale proceeds will be used to double the company’s annual salmon and trout production to 80,000 tons by 2015. The company aims to invest $274 million through 2015.
