Yammer Inc. has raised $17 million in its fourth round of venture capital financing. This brings the company’s total funding to $57 million. The investment round was led by Social+Capital Partnership, a new venture fund set up by former Facebook vice president Chamath Palihapitiya. Existing investors such as Charles River Ventures, Emergence Capital and U.S. Venture Partners also participated in the fundraising process. Palihapitiya will serve as an observer on Yammer’s board of directors. The provider of enterprise social networks will use the additional funding to scale up operations across its offices in San Francisco, London and Melbourne.
