Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s (MSIM) assets under management rose 7% from the prior quarter and 21% higher than 2010, Pensions & Investments reports. MSIM valued its assets under management at $296 billion at the end of the second quarter of 2011.
The firm accounted net inflows of $15.7 billion for the quarter, as compared to inflows of $1.4 billion in the previous quarter. As on June 30, the net inflows from equity strategies were $1.4 billion, while fixed-income strategies saw net outflows of $2.4 billion, alternatives collected $200 million of inflows and real estate business saw outflows of $100 million.
