TPG Capital is seeking to raise $1.5-2 billion for a sophomore fund, The Wall Street Journal reports. The TPG Growth II will make small and middle-market growth and equity investments globally with an emphasis on the U.S. and Asia.
Washington State Investment Board has already committed about $200 million to the fund. The new fund will look to take advantage of investment opportunities that are small for TPG’s main fund. TPG Capital’s previous fund, TPG Star, raised about $1.5 billion in 2007.
