J O Hambro Capital Management (JOHCM) may shut down its U.S. opportunities fund, Citywire reports. The boutique is seeking approval from its unit holders to close the JOHCM U.S. Opportunities fund by the end of June 2011. The firm does not consider it economical to run the £22 million equities fund, launched in March 2006. As a part of the closure, portfolio manager, Gordon Elvey, will leave the firm after the liquidation of the fund.
