CatalunyaCaixa has sold a 1.6% stake in oil company, Repsol, for €448.2 million, The Wall Street Journal reports. The Repsol stake was earlier owned by Repinves, an investment vehicle controlled by CatalunyaCaixa and Criteria CaixaCorp, the financial holding company of savings bank, La Caixa.

Under the deal, Criteria took 41.4 million Repsol shares previously held by the investment vehicle. UBS brokered the transaction. CatalunyaCaixa will book a capital gain of €186 million from the deal.
