Gary Gensler chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, has urged European lawmakers to work together with the U.S. on financial reform, particularly in the over-the-counter derivatives market. In a speech to a committee of the European Parliament, Gensler acknowledged differences in the approach to reform on both sides of the Atlantic, but also said U.S. regulators were prepared to work with their European counterparts on agreements that would include information sharing and market supervision.
