Baring Shuts U.K. Smaller Companies Fund

Baring Asset Management has liquidated the U.K. Smaller Companies fund.

Baring Asset Management has liquidated the U.K. Smaller Companies fund, Financial Times reports. The fund was managed by Nick Williams, who is head of the small cap team and will continue to run the £521 million Europe Select trust.

The fund, which had a total size of £37.3 million, has been shut following its review, as per which the fund is unlikely to grow, adds What Investment. The fund has delivered a third-quartile return of 12.7% over five years to March 21, 2011.
