China’s international commodity marketplace Hong Kong Mercantile Exchange (HKMEx) has named William Barkshire as COO, Finextra reports. Barkshire, who is currently senior adviser at HKMEx, will now manage delivery of its defined strategy and corporate objectives, build strategic alliances and joint ventures and organize cross-departmental agendas and implementation. He will continue reporting to the exchange’s chairman.
Barkshire serves on the Treasury Markets Association‘s market practices committee and the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce‘s financial services and treasury committee. Previously, he was with the London Stock Exchange as director of corporate strategy and a member of the CEO’s committee.
