The Federal Housing Finance Agency has ordered Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to align procedures and incentives for mortgage servicers handling delinquent mortgages. The FHFA, which oversees both government-sponsored enterprises, said the alignment would result in earlier servicer engagement to identify the best solution available for homeowners, given their individual circumstances.”
