Kixeye, an independent game developer, has secured $18 million in the ‘Series C’ venture capital (VC) funding round. Jafco Ventures led the investment round, while existing investors Trinity Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners also participated in the fundraising process.
The San Francisco-based company intends to use the funding to expand its social gaming business and to bolster its staff and build additional game titles. Joe Horowitz, managing general partner of Jafco, will join Kixeye’s board of directors. Zynga founding team member Andrew Trader will also join the Kixeye board.
