David Perry shepherds the J.P. Morgan Cazenove squad to third place for a second year in a row. The 43-year-old team leader “is a smart, independent thinker who sticks to his guns,” one money manager insists. Another ally echoes that opinion, noting that the London-based analysts are “longtime bulls on Airbus [Group], which has made us lots of money.” They track 16 European aerospace and defense names and, indeed, for years have not faltered in their support of the France-based airplane maker. Over that time, the two-person team has repeatedly highlighted its overweight rating on the shares, recently noting that a rigorous aircraft delivery cycle and relatively strong dollar were supporting strong performance. Airbus’s stock climbed 23.8 percent during the trailing 12-month period through mid-January, outperforming its regional peers by 25.6 percentage points. At €56.15, however, it still had room to run before reaching the researchers’ target of €74.
