Ben Axler Takes On XPO Logistics

In its last short call of 2018, Spruce Point gets a big win.

Ben Axler’s Spruce Point Capital has unveiled its last short target for 2018 — and so far, it looks like a doozy.

Shares of Greenwich-based trucking firm XPO Logistics fell more than 26 percent Thursday after Spruce Point’s report came out.

It’s the latest in a series of strong short calls this year, giving Spruce Point an estimated 25 percent return year to date, according to an individual familiar with the fund.
