After nine years as an activist short seller based in San Francisco, Carson Block plans to move his Muddy Waters firm to New York City next summer as part of a long-term plan to transform the franchise.
“I see an opportunity to turn our firm over time into a platform, eventually becoming a multistrategy firm,” Block told Institutional Investor in an interview about his plans.
Muddy Waters started out as a research firm that became famous for its 2011 takedown of Chinese company Sino Forest.
