Morgan Stanley’s Kimberly Greenberger has been ensconced in second place for six straight years. “She is an excellent analyst,” proclaims one buy-side enthusiast. “She has clear opinions about the stocks in her universe, and has the ability to convey them in a concise and professional manner.” Greenberger is directing her clients toward retailers that bring to the table “strong brand awareness and/or sell distinctive products,” she says, and cites Michael Kors Holdings as an example. The researcher has been recommending the Hong Kong–based women’s apparel retailer since January, and by the end of August, the stock had skyrocketed 82.9 percent, from $29.50 to $53.95; during the same period the sector was up 14.8 percent. Greenberger remains bullish.
