A total of ten firms earn at least one first-place position on the 2015 All-India Research Team, Institutional Investor’s fifth annual ranking of the nation’s leading sell-side equity analysts. Credit Suisse researchers are deemed the best in nearly a third of the categories — five out of 16 — that produced publishable results. That’s more than double the number of sector victories claimed by any other research provider. Click on the Leaders link to view the full list of 22 ranked firms.
Two analysts lead more than one lineup. Deutsche Bank’s Manoj Menon outperforms all others in both Consumer categories, Discretionary (for a fourth straight year) and Staples (for a fifth year in a row), while Neelkanth Mishra of Credit Suisse claims his first top finish in Basic Materials and rises one rung to top the roster in Portfolio Strategy.
Menon is one of only two analysts to have finished in first place every year since the All-India Research Team was introduced, in 2011. Morgan Stanley’s Chetan Ahya, now celebrating his fifth consecutive victory in Economics, is the other.
Antique Stock Broking captures its first sector championship, in Oil & Gas. Amit Rustagi, who debuted on the team in 2013 at No. 3 but failed to rank last year, shoots straight to the top this time around.Listed below by sector are this year’s leading analysts.
