Debuting in third place is the five-strong Bank of America Merrill Lynch squad guided by Carlos Peyrelongue, who is headquartered in Mexico City, and São Paulo–based Guilherme Vilazante. This duo also co-leads the No. 2 team in Cement & Construction. The analysts, who follow 21 stocks, “understand the sector dynamics better than anyone else,” declares one buy-side backer. They launched coverage on Mexico Real Estate Management in January with a buy rating, at 26.49 pesos, primarily on valuation. Shares of the commercial real estate investment trust soared as high as 33.30 pesos in May before starting to slip; by mid-July they had sunk to 27.51 pesos. The researchers maintain their bullish stance, however, as they expect the REIT to grow through acquisitions over the next 18 months.
