As a portfolio adviser for New York alternative-investment consulting firm Aksia, Samantha Levenstein is helping to build some of the biggest hedge fund investment programs at pension funds across the U.S. Clients that Levenstein works with include the New York City pension system, the Orange County Employees Retirement System and Texas Treasury Safekeeping Trust Co. The 30-year-old New Orleans native, who has an undergraduate degree from the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications and a JD from New York Law School, joined Aksia as an associate in 2009. Levenstein created the firm’s Lunch and Learn series, in which industry experts address clients and staff on hedge-fund-related topics. Recent sessions have covered everything from hedge fund fraud to real estate investing. |
